About
Hi! My name is Tyson and I am currently a 4th year student at UC Berkeley studying Design Innovation and Data Science.
Coming from a hard of hearing background and bicultural upbringing, I lean on my unique experiences to design products that are accessible and human-centered.
My goal is to enrich others’ lives through compassionate design that makes everyday experiences better.

Design Experience
UX/UI Designer | Ullabelle - Internship
Optimize conversion rate for baby and lifestyle brand's website, through user research and competitive analysis, identifying conversion drop-off points and designing data-driven UX improvements that enhanced user flow and engagement.
Collaborated cross-functionally with the creative team to design and prototype minimalist, user-centered interfaces in Figma, elevating visual storytelling and driving higher conversion across digital touchpoints.
Product Designer | KAYA - Contract
In collaboration with Berkeley Innovation, designed social engagement features for the KAYA climbing app to strengthen user connection, community building, and retention, collaborating cross-functionally to improve core engagement metrics.
Executed the full end-to-end design process — from user research and insight synthesis to journey mapping, ideation, and prototyping — to deliver data-informed, user-centered solutions aligned with product goals.
UX/UI Designer | Phoenix Fund - Case Study
Designed Phoenix Fund, a crisis-focused crowdfunding platform that helps small businesses recover from disasters such as the LA Fires, using a human-centered design process rooted in user research, insight synthesis, prototyping, and iterative testing to create an intuitive, accessible experience.
Achieved measurable impact with 75% of users reporting increased likelihood to donate and 90% rating the platform as easy to use, demonstrating strong alignment between accessibility, user needs, and business goals.

Design Involvement
UX/UI Team Lead | Innovative Design
Led and mentored design teams through the full end-to-end design process—from low-fidelity concepts to a high-fidelity product—guiding user-centered design decisions while ensuring alignment with client goals.
Provided hands-on mentorship in Figma through workshops and design sprints that strengthened the team’s technical proficiency, design thinking, and cross-functional collaboration.
Design Consultant | Berkeley Innovation
Collaborated cross-functionally with designers and developers to craft human-centered design solutions through user research, synthesis, ideation, and high-fidelity prototyping, ensuring usability and design consistency.
Led design sprints by delegating tasks, providing actionable feedback, and managing client communication to align decisions with user needs and deliver high-quality, on-time results that met project and business goals.
